Urban Sanctuary is a public artwork in the form of a book. Invited to collaborate with the architects Reiach and Hall on their redevelopment of Stills Gallery in Edinburgh, Coley produced this book of interviews which document the artist’s attempt to establish a public sanctuary in Edinburgh.

The virtual sanctuary was proposed and developed through interviewing eight different individuals, all associated with building use design. Nathan developed a series of questions that explored individual sanctuary and the forms that this may take. His project explored issues surrounding how architecture meets the needs of the individual and how those needs change over time.
